Milkmaids
(
Cardamine californica)

Milkmaids are typically the first flowers that we see on the trail. You don't have to walk very far up Moore Trail to see your first ones.

Hound's Tongue (Cynoglossum grande)

Hound's Tongue seem to sneak  into the sunshine spots under the trees.  They come out after the Milkmaids.  Moore Trail will have 'em.

Indian Warrior
(Pedicularis densiflora)

Indian Warrior seems to nestle in rocky ledges that catch the sun.  In March, if you walk up to Five Corners, and go right up "upper" Shaver F.R., at the top of the hill you might be able to see fields of red, white, and blue:
Indian Warrior, Milkmaid's and  Hound's Tongue

Star Lily (Zigadenus fremontii)

Star Lilies seem to come up in groups in sunny spots along the trail.   There are a couple single plants to be found on the Moore Trail.

Henderson's Shooting Star (Dodecatheon hendersonii)

Shooting Stars seem to have a mind of their own.  Often you'll see them sneaking out at the same time as the Hound's Tongue.  I always think of them as being a key part of Lower Yolanda Trail.  In 2004 they covered a rocky outcrop on Deer Park F.R. between Boy Scout Junction and Five Corners.  There was also a few on the Moore Trail on the way to Boy Scout Junction.
